Our Recommended Route:
We meet at the FamilyMart in front of Yasaka Shrine. From there, we walk through Maruyama Park, getting photos, before continuing to Nene no Michi. This road has a lot of great spots and we’ll continue until we reach Ninenzaka Street. There, we’ll visit the colorful Yasaka Koshindo and then get photos in front of the iconic Hokan-ji Pagoda. Typically, the tour ends very close to Kiyomizu Temple, and you’re welcome to stay in the area for touring, shopping and eating.
PiQtour is more than happy to work with you if you’re looking to get photos elsewhere.
There are many excellent places for photos in Kyoto. Whether you want to explore Arashiyama, the bustling city, or request a more local and private spot (proposals, anyone?) just let us know!
Notes: We will still remain in the same time slot unless you book two consecutive slots to allow for extra time. If you choose a place that requires an admission fee, you’ll be asked to pay for the photographer’s admission. Travel fees may also be requested.
What kind of photography do you do?
I did wedding photography for about five years before moving to Japan. I have a traditional style inspired by vintage film. I like using natural light and warmer colors. If you’re looking for something in specific, talk to me!
Do you do proposals?
Absolutely. Please let me know about it when you book and not just suddenly get down on one knee during the shoot. 🙂
Will it be busy?
Kyoto is one of the most popular tourist spots in the world, so, yes. However, I’m used to working with this and will make sure we still get great photos. If this is a real concern for you, however, I recommend booking one of the morning sessions.
How soon will I get my photos back?
Sooner than most other photographers will get them to you. I love editing and usually get photos back to my clients within 1-2 weeks. Just talk to me about it if you have any special requests or concerns.
We had the most wonderful experience touring with Abigail during her photoshoot in Kyoto. Her calm and sweet demeanor immediatley connected with our kids, making the entire process enjoyable.
Capturing moments with a multigenerational family like ours requires immense skill, and Abigail did it effortlessly. Her attention to detail is impeccable, and her ability to guide us through the shoot while informing us about Kyoto’s traditional and modern culture was truly engaging.
Abigail’s passion for photography and her dedication to creating a memorable experience shine through in every photo she took. We’re beyond thrilled with the results and will cherish these beautiful memories forever. Thank you, Abigail, for your incredible talent and the wonderful moments you’ve captured for us!
