Our Story
PiQtour’s journey begins as Tappei and Abigail. We are a married couple with years of experience in professional photography and a passion for history and cultures. Having worked with customers in both Japan and America, we have met many different people with different stories. Upon moving back to Japan together, we decided to skip the “traditional job route” and instead combine the things we love: photography, history, and people.
We have each travelled a lot (but not enough!). Travel can be stressful: not only is there so much planning, but there’s so much history and stories that can be easily missed out on. On top of that, we wanted photos that we would be proud to share and that really encapsulated our special trip.

Come with us for a unique tour with stories that won’t make you feel like you’re just sitting in a history class lecture, and photos that’ll make you and your trip the envy of everyone back home. And don’t worry about the planning–we’ve devised many great tour routes for you to choose from to see the best parts of the city.
We call this place our home, and will make sure you have a fun and memorable trip here to take with you always.

Abigail
The wife of the operation, Abigail spent five years as a professional wedding photographer in America before deciding to up and move to Japan with her camera. She loves working with people and capturing special and joyous moments. In her free time, she likes to explore the city with her Shiba Inu, Wasabi; try new cafes and restaurants (and take pictures of the food); and listen to true crime and history podcasts.
She is the primary tour guide and photographer who will accompany you on your tour!
Tappei
Tappei decided to combine he and his wife’s passions and strengths to create PiQtour. He was inspired when family shared old photos with him of their travels and special occasions and recognized how treasured they were, even decades later. He loves Japanese history, and, growing up in Japan, enjoys sharing the unique and fascinating parts of Japan with others. In his free time, he goes to Gold’s Gym and hangs out with his Shiba Inu, Wasabi.
