FAQ!

How much walking is involved?
This is a moderately active walking tour covering historic streets, shrine grounds, and small hills. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Will photos be taken during the tour?
Yes! Complimentary iPhone photos will be taken casually throughout the tour to capture natural moments.
Photos are taken in RAW format and professionally edited before being uploaded to a private online gallery within one week of your tour date.
Please note: This is not a formal photo shoot — photos are taken briefly at a few key points while we continue the tour on schedule.

Can you take photos with my phone?
Yes, I’m happy to assist with quick snapshots on your phone if requested.
However, I will not adjust your phone’s settings, and I am unable to edit these images.

Can I wear a kimono for this tour?
Kimono rentals are not recommended for the morning Gion Walking Tour, because most rental shops open around 8:00–9:00 AM and dressing typically takes about 90 minutes, making it difficult to start on time.
However, if you wish to wear a kimono, you may consider booking an afternoon tour time outside of the summer season, when afternoon options are available.
If you find a rental shop that offers earlier dressing independently, you are welcome to wear a kimono, but tour timing must still be respected.
For guests wanting professional portraits in kimono, we recommend booking a separate morning photo session or the afternoon Fushimi Inari + Kiyomizu Temple Photo Tour.

What happens if it rains?
The tour will proceed rain or shine. In case of rain, we may adjust the route slightly to maximize comfort while preserving the experience.

Are there places where photos are not allowed?
Yes. Out of respect, we do not take photos in certain areas, especially inside shrine and temple prayer spaces where photography is prohibited or culturally inappropriate.

Can I choose not to have any photos taken?
Of course. Complimentary photos are offered as a courtesy, but if you prefer a pure walking experience without photos, simply let your guide know.

Where does the tour end?
The tour concludes at Kiyomizu Temple. From there, your guide will help you arrange transportation or direct you toward the nearest taxi stand or public transit options for your next destination.

How many people are included in the tour price?
The tour price includes up to 6 guests traveling together.
If you have more than 6 guests, or two families wishing to combine, please contact us before booking. Additional fees may apply.
